Please Note: The FAQs on this page are for Texas farmers, ranchers and artisan food business owners. If you are a Texas consumer and local food buyer, please check out the FAQ section on our support site.

General

  • The dedicated research team here at TexasRealFood are constantly on the lookout for Texas based food businesses that fit within our listing criteria. Most likely they have found your business when researching online or through a customer recommendation and have added it to our directory.

  • We use a wide range of publicly available information such as

    • search engines,

    • review sites,

    • business directories,

    • farmers market listings,

    • social media,

    • user submissions,

    • newspapers and magazines, and

    • other online and offline resources

to compile the content of our directory.

  • There are no costs whatsoever associated with your listing in the TexasRealFood directory and our basic listings will always remain completely free!

We have added premium listing features to the directory for added visibility and other features, but the basic listing will always be free

  • Unfortunately not. In an ideal world, we can all pick and choose what we display to the public about our business, but in order to keep things candid and straight forward, we handle all of our listings ourselves.

If you do find an issue with the information listed for your business, or would like to change the image, please submit a support ticket, and one of our team will be in touch with you directly to handle any necessary changes.

Update: We will be adding functionality that allows business owners to change business details once they have been verified

  • You sure can. Given the image is up to standard and complies with Texas Real Food’s Terms & Conditions. Please create a support ticket to submit your hi-res images, and one of our team members will be in touch with you directly.

  • Please use our Submit Listing Form to submit your business’s detail for review. It won’t cost you a thing.

  • Not quite yet, at the moment we focus exclusively on the beautiful state of Texas – but who knows what the future holds!

Promotion and Advertising on TexasRealFood

  • Yes, we run ads via our partner ad networks.

As we develop our directory and website further, we plan to incorporate some paid features that will allow us to keep the site running, and feature some key businesses.

This will include premium listings, sponsored content, affiliate links, and e-mail promotions as part of our paid features. If businesses wish to feature more prominently, they can choose to be included in our featured listings, advertise via our email promotions, or appear first for key search terms as a sponsored listing.

Please check back frequently for updates.

  • Currently, none of our editorial content is sponsored.

In near future we will be launching our premium features, which are available to businesses for a fee. This may include some sponsored editorial content, but this will always be noted if so.

We do, however, feature affiliate linking in our articles and features. This costs nothing for the consumer or businesses, but, if an item is purchased through our link, we gain a small commission on the sale.

We will always ensure that any advertising or affiliate content is of the same high-quality that our featured businesses and consumers expect from TexasRealFood.

  • At TexasRealFood, we believe that access to good quality producers should be possible for everyone. That’s why our basic listings and access to the directory will always be free. But, of course, we are a business, so how do we keep TexasRealFood going?

Like any small business starting up, we are self-funded at the moment, and led by a small core team of staff members. In the near future we will be launching our premium features, which are available to businesses for a fee.

There are a number of ways that will help us tick over, including premium listings, sponsored content, affiliate links, and e-mail promotions as part of our paid features. If businesses wish to feature more prominently, they can choose to be included in our featured listings, advertise via our email promotions, or appear first for key search terms as a sponsored listing.

Alongside this, we feature affiliate linking in our articles and features. This costs nothing for the consumer or businesses, but, if an item is purchased through our link, we gain a small commission on the sale. We will always ensure that any advertising or affiliate content is of the same high-quality that our featured businesses and consumers expect from TexasRealFood.

These are all ways that ensure we can continue to keep our directory free and open to all – so that everyone has access to high-quality producers, and that farmers, ranchers, and other businesses have access to consumers that care just as much about real food as they do.

  • In order to keep our website running, and to continue to provide you with high-quality content, some of the articles that we produce have links to Amazon or other affiliates. When you buy something by clicking through this link, a small percentage comes back to us – at no cost to you. This helps keep our essential business running, and allows us to keep the website as up-to-date and dynamic as possible.
